Our Engineering & Design team have been focussed on ensuring our conversion solutions provide our clients with the latest in weight reduction racking, efficient inverter technology and smart accessories in order to make the move to electric an easier one.
We recognise the new skills and requirements needed for converters to underpin the successful move to this technology, which is why we have made significant investment in the business recently in order to prepare both our facilities and staff for the increased requirements of an electrified future. Qi Van Systems electricians were the first converter in the industry to be IMI accredited for the provision of routine servicing and maintenance on electric and hybrid vehicles.

We’ve also installed 12 additional electric vehicle charging points on site, thus ensuring we have the infrastructure available to manage conversions on electric vans.
The biggest challenge to adopting a fully electrified fleet is the implications around usage, and the different approaches needed for fuelling/charging them.
Whilst maximising the range of electric vehicles is key, this can be greatly affected by essential operational equipment such as onboard inverters.
Qi have been collaborating with our supply partners to understand the options available and also engaging with new technologies enabling us to offer our clients innovative solutions that don’t have a negative impact on the operation of their vehicles.
We understand that due to the battery technology an electric van is heavier than its ICE equivalent, so weight is an essential consideration when specifying a fleet of new vehicles.
We have reviewed every element of our racking solution and identified keys areas where changes can be made to reduce weight.
We are also working with our key clients to review existing conversion specifications to ensure they are ready for Electrification.
